Yes, The Fallen Race by Kal Spriggs is very definitely fan fiction, or homage, or both, and the serial numbers haven’t been filed off any too well. Which is odd, because the rest of the story is smooth as glass. It’s not only homage to Weber, but primarily to Star Wars, with a healthy dollop of Firefly, especially toward the end.
